#SummerOn with Andie Swim

Back before our family vacation to Mexico this past December, I set out to find a new swimsuit. I’ve always had a hard time finding a swimsuit that fits well and makes me feel confident enough to wear out and about. I stumbled upon a brand called Andie and loved how cute but also simple their suits were. I decided to get a couple– a really cute black ribbed fabric one-piece and a pretty yellow high waisted two-piece. I fell in love with their suits and loved how well they fit on our trip to Mexico.

Thinking back, this feels like ages ago with everything that’s been going on. It’s crazy to think that just six months ago, we were vacationing in the Yucatan without a care in the world– how things can change. So when Andie reached out a couple of weeks ago and asked if we’d be interested in helping them with a project for their new Summer 2020 collection, it took me right back to our vacation. They had decided to switch up how they were photographing their suits since studio shoots were challenging right now, and use real women to showcase their new line. Their concept was focusing on how even though summer may be looking a little different, you can still Turn On Your Summer– however that looks for you. I love that! It immediately reminded me of something my sister-in-law read us the other day. It was one of those card sets that had a bit of encouragement every day, and this one talked about your “Vacation Mind.” It said something to the tune of “With the delight of exploring a new place, the mind becomes bright and alive. But you don’t need to be on vacation to take this approach; you can tap into this vacation mind anytime. Seeing the remarkable in the big and small around you and meeting it with freshness and interest.” And that feels so relevant right now. While vacation and travel aren’t on the horizon for a while and summer, in general, may look a little different, it doesn’t mean that we can’t turn on our vacation mind and enjoy the little things day-to-day. For me, turning on my summer looks like hanging out on the deck, reading an encouraging book, planting a backyard garden, trying out new recipes, and just taking in all the Seattle sunshine. What is summer looking like for you? Whatever that may be I’d encourage you to tune into your vacation mind and see how it might change your perspective.

Go check out Andie’s new summer line and more of the photos we got to take for them! I loved all the suits they sent me, but if I had to pick just one favorite (trust me, it’s really hard to choose), I’d say their new Ribbed Havana Top & High Waisted Cheeky Bottoms. They also just launched their new Eco Collection line, made from recycled plastic bottles. I always love supporting brands that not only make great products but make a commitment to supporting the planet with sustainable and recycled products.
